So where next....

 Do I go backwards in time or forwards? 

I think I will start with my Poppa, Peter Bernard Robinson.

Peter Bernard Robinson was born on 20 April 1908 at 33 Marylands Road, Paddington, London.

His mother, Evelyn Veronica Robinson formerlly Llewellyn, registered the birth on 7th ay 1908. 

His father is recorded as Peter Robinson, and his occupation is shown as Furniture salesman. 

There is a lot of mystery surrounding Peter Bernards father Peter Robinson. All through my childhood there were stories about him. Was it a fictious name? Could PB's father have been a German Count? 

What is known is that PB was brought up not knowing who his father was. 

In fact PB was called Bernard in his childhood family and it was only upon a certain life event aged 14/16 that he discovered his full name was Peter Bernard Robinson.

The Starting Point

Why am I starting this blog?

Mostly because my Dad has over 9000 slides which need to be kept somewhere and freely available for anyone who wishes to see them. Mostly they will be family photos, but there are some photos that are real social history. 

Some details may not be correct and I am always happy for further information and memories to be given and received. So I will allow moderated comments. 

This photo is a great one to start with. 

From the Left are my Dad, Martin Southwood, my Mum, Gill Southwood (pregnant with me), her Mum (my Nana), Mary E Robinson , then Mum's brother Phil Robinson and on the right is Mum's Dad (my Poppa) Peter B Robinson. 

The photo would have been taken during 1962 (looks like Mum is pregnant with me) is taken at Weir Water bridge on Exmoor, Somerset.
